Christina Inés McCoy is Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish at Christopher Newport University. She completed her PhD in Early Modern Spanish Literature at The University of Texas at Austin, along with a doctoral portfolio in Women’s and Gender Studies in 2015. Christina has extensive experience teaching Spanish language at all levels as well as Spanish culture, history and art. Her research publications have examined Medieval, Early Modern and contemporary Spanish literature, queer theory, gender, Orientalism, and questions of otherness. She has received various scholarships and fellowships for her academic achievements as well as for her service to the university. Christina received her MA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2009 and her BA from the University of Kansas in 2006.
